Australia’s tallest native bird, standing between 1.6 and 1.9 meters tall, is flightless. Adult Emus are covered with shaggy grey-brown feathers except for the neck and head, which are largely naked and bluish-black. Each foot has three toes and no hind toe.

Males are extremely dangerous during the breeding season. Habitat various arid inland plains.
