This picture of a Snowy Owl was taken approximately 2 miles south of Armena, Alberta on January 2, 2013 using a Pentax K5 with a Sigma 50-500mm at ISO 200, 1/3000 at f10.
I sat in my van and took several shots of the owl, then walked across the highway and took several more shots of the owl from almost directly below it. The owl was not upset by my resence and seemed very curious. It possibly had its summer territory where there were few if any human inhabitants in the Northwest Territories or Nunaut Territory in Canada.
