The first ruby-throated hummingbird males always show up in late April/early May – right on schedule this year, this male showed up May 1. I’ve planted lots of nectar flowers in my garden and also keep hummingbird feeders up until late fall. I am rewarded each year with breeding females and usually two resident males.
