A montane forest dweller, Rusty Laughingthrush is an endemic bird to Taiwan. Usually living in a small group and sometimes generating loud calls, it is actually not that easy to spot, because it prefers to stay near the ground under dense bushes. Its small patch of blue bare skin behind the eyes would be more visible under sunlight.
