My encounters with this bird species have always been at Taiwan’s rocky ocean coast, and my experience is consistent with their Chinese name, which is basically a direct translation of Blue Rock-Thrush, only a particular Chinese word representing rocks projecting over the water is adopted. However in fact their habitat in the Island is up to the mid-elevation mountain area. This photo was taken by the Kaohsiung Harbor in southern Taiwan.
