Baird’s Trogon

Not everyday I see this species which has a limited distribution from central pacific Costa Rica to a small area in western Panama. Not only I got lucky to have it so close but also at eye level as the bird was more interested in coming down to the ground to feed on mud, something I have never seen before. The image was made close to the Corcovado National Park in southern Costa Rica.
