Location: Oxbow Bend, Grand Teton National Park, WY
In contrast to a Clark’s Grebe, as shown in this image, the black cap of a Western Grebe extends below the red eye. Additionally, the beak of a Western Grebe is a pale yellow as opposed to the orange-yellow beak of a Clark’s Grebe. This bird was just floating along at Oxbow Bend in Grand Teton National Park.
