In December 2011, a friend of mine told me about a Snowy Owl located in New Jersey. Not being all that far from where I live in Pennsylvania, I decided to see if I could photograph it. The first time I went, I not only had a hard time locating the bird, by the time I did, the lighting wasn’t that great. As a result, my photos didn’t turn out too good. It was a cold day as well. Knowing now where the bird was, I had to give it another try. I drove down one morning when it was somewhat warmer, and set up my equiipment. Not seeing it for a while, I went up a steep walking trail which I ignored the first time. Probably because I was too cold to try the first time. I went up the trail until I spotted a clearing, and then veered off. I spotted the Snowy Owl flying out from the woods, and landing on a rock formation. I not only had a better vantage point, I was considerably closer to the bird.
