A Semipalmated Plover with a partial mirror reflection of its head. I made this image by patiently laying in the wet sand as I watched the plovers intermittently working their way through shallow puddles along the coast. I photographed this bird at Sandy Point State Reservation on Plum Island, MA using a Canon EOS 7D, 300 mm F/2.8 lens, and 1.4x tele-extender under partly sunny skies.
