Semipalmated Plover

This Semipalmated Plover (female I assume) on the Homer Spit seemed to be concerned that I stopped nearby her nest to take a photo of the male who was trying to distract us away. Apparently she left the nest and gave the wounded wing act to distract us, which I couldn’t resist photographing.

Photo slightly cropped and taken with a Canon Rebel XSI and a Tamron 16-300 mm lens with image stabilization.
