The fledgling Red-headed Woodpecker had to travel back down the tree to get the berry from mom/dad. They are very good parents. I am sure there is more than one baby, but have only seen this one who has fledged. It is hard to believe any others would be gone as I am sure they cannot feed themselves yet. I do see this one practicing grabbing at bugs that fly by. It amazing to see the adults fly up and catch the bugs in mid flight. Taken with a Nikon D500, Nikkor 300mm lens with 1.4 tc.
