On a recent visit to Sandy Point State Reservation on Plum Island, I had the chance to see several Piping Plovers scurrying about the beach during low tide. With the morning light still soft from the low angle of sun, I was able to observe a few of these curious birds as they approached the edge of a tidal pool giving a mirrored view. I photographed this bird using a Canon EOS 7D and a 300 mm F/2.8 IS L lens under sunny skies.
