After visiting Edwin Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge in New Jersey for the past year, this Peregrine Falcon had eluded me continuously. Finally, on my last trip there, I noticed it on an unoccupied Osprey nest. I carefully stopped the car and slowly got out my gear, setup and locked on the falcon. As soon as it took off, I fired off about 10 shots with this one being my favorite. It just goes to show that persistence pays off.
This photo was taken with a Nikon D810 with a 500mm. Settings were 1/2000th of second at f8 and iso 640.
