The nest site of a family of Osprey. Note the distinctive difference in the plumage of the adult and juvenile birds. All of the covert feathers, tertial feathers, and feather of the head have white tips to them, giving the young birds a very pronounced “spotted” appearance. The same feathers of the adult bird lacks these spots, giving it an over all, uniform brown coloring.
