I photographed these junior cygnets this past summer at Horn Pond in Woburn, MA. I spotted them moving upstream in a secluded brook and positioned myself ahead of them by 50 yards or so and waited for them to approach. I used a Canon 7D with a 300 mm F2.8 L IS lens mounted on a Really Right Stuff TVC-33 tripod and a BH-55 ballhead. It was a low-light, end of the day situation and my settings were 1/640 sec, f/2.8, ISO 500.
