This bird is the Limpkin, a bird that is only found in Florida and South Georgia. It forages on freshwater snails and is a shy bird, not easy to always photograph because they tend to shy away from humans. This was taken at Seminole Lake Park, in Seminole, Florida, where a small hobbling of Limpkins lived in the tall grasses around the lake. When I did see one, I loved to follow at a distance to get a few photos, at times there would be a juvenile with the adult, which made the photo very special.
