Great Horned Owls

This Great Horned Owl pair is from the Tucson Arizona area. The female was sitting on a nest in a Saguaro Cactus. In the evening as soon as the sun would set over the Catalina Mountains { seen in the background} she would leave the nest and join up with the male. They would then hunt the fields.
This image was captured about 20 minutes after the sun disappeared over the mountains, the fading light still allowed some illumination to the sky, then a lil fill flash to Illuminate the Owl pair in the snag!
