I was observing this Great Gray from a roadside near Millarville, AB, Canada. The owl, some thirty feet away, was aware of me but paid little attention. Then it took flight in my direction and landed on the fence post right beside me and began listening for voles. The owl was still unconcerned by my presence and I had to back away to take this portrait shot. A wonderful experience. Photographed on 19 June 2020 with a Nikon D7200 and Sigma 100-400mm lens.
