I have gotten to know this great blue heron quite well. He has claimed the top of a tree in a remote portion of a county park adjacent to my house in Seminole, FL. I can always count on him to either be in his tree or fishing in an adjacent pond. I have photographed him often, but decided to do a close-up of him with his mouth open and showing his tongue.
