Portrait of a great blue heron taken in Concord, MA 6/14/14. He was 15′ off the trail and totally acclimated and unconcerned about passers by. Was so close, I was only able to get a portrait when he stretched his neck fully, all in all, not a bad problem to have. He lounged here for 20-30 minutes in the morning sun before calmly flying off to fish a different location.
