Does it get any cuter than a Golden-crowned Kinglet? While out birding a small local patch recently, I encountered this darling little kinglet foraging down low. The bird was hardly phased by me watching and photographing him. He was preoccupied with finding his next meal. Insects are hard to come by in winter, so it takes a lot of searching. Kinglets are constantly on the move, especially so in winter when they have to keep their body temperature up to survive frigid temperatures. Taken in St. Joseph County, Michigan.
