The Gila Woodpeckers nest in the Saguaro Cactus and often came for a sip of the nectar from the cactus flowers. They also liked to sit at the top of the cactus and call. This photo was taken just outside of Tucson, AZ, near Saguaro National Park. It was taken on April 9, 2015 with a Nikon D5000 and a Nikon 300mm lens and a 2x teleconverter. The camera was set to F13, ISO 320 and 1/320 second.
