During a frigid sub-20-degree morning at a local wildlife sanctuary, I spotted several Blue Jays on one of the trails. Blue jays are notorious for not staying still for too long especially when it comes to photographing them. I was lucky this bird paused just long enough to capture this photo. Camera gear used: Canon EOS 1DX Mark II, 500 mm F/4 L IS II, 1.4x teleconverter under open shade.
