With just a few morsels of snow on its beak, this Blue Jay pauses momentarily before returning to a nearby suet feeder at Horn Pond, Woburn, MA. I photographed this bird under heavy overcast with an imminent snowfall in the forecast. I used a Canon 5D Mark 3, a 300 mm lens, and a 1.4x teleconverter.
