Blackpoll Warbler

This past weekend I had a rather pleasant encounter stumbling into a small group of Blackpoll warblers that were foraging the same areas with Yellow-rumped warblers. I was fortunate to photograph the warblers while they were under canopy with soft open-shade light on them. I love the fact that the Blackpoll is so transformative in color, going from contrasty black-and-white during spring to a refined blend of yellow and green pastel during fall. Camera gear used:
Canon EOS 1DX Mark II, 500 mm F/4 L IS II, 1.4x teleconverter. Photographed in Cambridge, MA fall 2020.
