Taken with a Canon 7D and a Canon 300 f4.0 lens with a 1.4x extender. I do not ordinarily get overly excited when finding an American Pipit. However, on a recent trip to southeast Michigan, I happened across a flock of 500-700 in a recently plowed field. The numbers were staggering and the ground seemed to just move with birds. Amazing.
