This Snowy Owl picture was taken on Dec. 18, 2017 from the mall parking lot in Vienna, WV. He had been in the area for a few weeks. I found out that he had been hit by a car when he first arrived and his right wing had been damaged but not enough that he couldn’t fly a little. The Avian Conservation Center of Appalachia came in and captured him on Friday of that week, took him back to Morgantown, WV, and provided a safe environment for him to gain back lost weight, get some medication into him, and time for his wing to heal. After about 6 weeks or more they drove him to Presque Isle in Pennsylvania and released him. A very good ending for this precious owl.
