The Say’s Phoebe is an “accidental” bird in the Mississippi Delta (Bolivar County, Mississippi) in December. I found this bird on December 7th while cruising the back roads of Bolivar County looking for the “field birds” that migrate into the area for the winter. It has stayed until 12/27/2021. It prefers utility lines and lower trees to sally forth for insects, which are abundant over the grassy canal and road edges. I expect it to stay until it is displaced by a cold front or strong storms.
