A lone Ovenbird seen here on a bed of pine needles at Horn Pond, Woburn, MA. Considering this bird would normally be much farther south in the warmer climates during winter months, it has caught the eye of many local photographers and birdwatchers. This image was captured in early February before the first significant snowfall of the season. Its survival has been made more probable by the efforts of local staff that have maintained seed supplies at the feeders. I photographed this bird using a Canon 7D, a 300 mm lens, and gentle touch of fill flash.
