For seven consecutive years there have been one to two Nordmann’s Greenshanks coming to winter at a wetland in Tainan City, Taiwan. There are only about 1,500 Nordmann’s Greenshanks left in the wild. As the population is still decreasing, the species is classified as Endangered in the IUCN Red List.
