The only previous record of a King Eider in the province of Saskatchewan was an immature male seen at the Blackstrap Reservoir in the fall of 1983, according to the Atlas of Saskatchewan Birds. This one, also a young male, was viewed at Echo Valley Park in the Qu’Appelle Valley in Saskatchewan on December 5, 2015. I photographed it on that date using a Nikon D810 camera.
