This Great White Pelican has been seen at Ding Darling Preserve on Sanibel Island for the last three days (late February). Seen in this photo beside the American White Pelican, it is larger and distinguished by a rosy colour to its chest and large eyes. The Great White Pelican is usually found in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. No one knows where this bird came from, and it is not tagged. The photo was taken with Nikon D7200 and Nikon 500mm F4 lens.
