Female (a guess based on relative size, females are larger than males) Barred Owl visited our yard yesterday just before sunset. I can’t tell if this is the female of the pair that nested near us in a neighbor’s yard in past years, but since I haven’t seen either for over a year, I was happy to spot her.
Since Barred Owls renew their bonds with their mates in January and start working on family matters in February-early March, I’m hoping some owlets may start making appearances in April.
