This crow has been in my neighborhood in southwest Seattle for at least three years (some neighbors call it “Beaky”). I think it’s beautiful and even more special in its condition. I was happy to capture such a dignified photo of it.
Editor’s note: This bird may have a condition known as avian keratin disorder in which beaks grow abnormally. The condition most commonly affects chickadees, nuthatches, woodpeckers, crows, and jays.
