This Black-bellied Whistling-Duck was found recently near Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. It certainly was not camera shy! This photo was submitted to our Rarities Gallery by horsepower735.

The species is native from southern Texas and Arizona south to Argentina. In recent years, it has been turning up regularly in the central and eastern U.S., and this year, reports have come from as far north as central North Dakota and New Brunswick.
