Photos of the day, August 16-31, 2020

Every day on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter, we share a photo of the day — a superb image from more than 20,000 photos in our Reader Galleries. The images we selected in the second half of August 2020 include a Chipping Sparrow at a bird bath, a Great Egret during breeding season, and a Sooty Grouse among the wildflowers.
