As many of us hunker down due to the coronavirus pandemic, we thought we’d ask what birds our readers are seeing and photographing — in your yards, especially, but also in your neighborhoods, local parks, or other birding patches. The situation with the virus is serious and scary, and taking time to watch birds and other wildlife — at feeders or close to home — is good for our spirits. By sharing our photos with one another, we can lift one another’s moods, and that’s important in trying times.
We asked for photos just yesterday and already received lots of images! Please enjoy the slideshow below. And if you’d like to take part in this communal birding activity, feel free! You can email photos to [email protected]. Be sure to tell us where you took the photos, such as your town, city, state, province, etc. If we can keep this going, we’ll make new posts every week.
