Our 2020 Color of Birds contest attracted loads of great images. We’re happy to present this slideshow of honorable mention photos, featuring hummingbirds, toucans, and many more birds. Enjoy!
“I was on my dream trip to Costa Rica, my first ‘real’ trip outside of the United States,” writes Wendy Crowe. “As an avid birdwatcher, I was beyond excited. The second day of our trip, I traveled to the Savegre Valley area. At lunch, I visited a property near the mountains with a beautiful lush forest and gardens. The garden area was full of hummingbirds of all kinds. My eyes were filled with colors of every spectrum. I photographed this brilliant male Talamanca Hummingbird on some flowers in between occasional light rain showers. Very exciting!”
