“The golf course behind our house is a frequently visited area for the local Sandhill Crane population,” writes Shawn Baker. “One fall afternoon, a group of Sandhills were mulling about when they decided that a nap was in order. I was able to walk up and sit beside them as they rested. Their curious eyes watched as I took this photo.”

Equipment and settings: Olympus E-PL7 with the 40-150mm f4.0-5.6 telephoto zoom at 145mm. 1/250s at f5.6, ISO 400.
