Our 2020 Color of Birds contest attracted loads of great images. We’re happy to present this slideshow of honorable mention photos, featuring hummingbirds, toucans, and many more birds. Enjoy!
“The photo was taken on July 4, 2020, at Turtle Pond in Central Park in New York City,” says Gloria Hong. “This particular Wood Duck hung around Turtle Pond for most the summer, and he was very distinctive because unlike the other ducks, he never molted and went into eclipse plumage. His brilliant plumage remained.”
Equipment and settings: Nikon D7500, Nikkor 200-500mm lens. f/5.6, 1/400, 460mm, ISO 320.
