"In Brazil, I went with a photographer friend to Itatiaia National Park. We climbed up to a lookout point to see what birds we could find in and around the nearby trees. The Saíra-largata or Brassy-breasted Tanager caught my attention with its singing and beautiful bright colors."
Equipment and settings: Nikon D500 camera with a Nikon 80-400mm lens, handheld. ISO 1600, f.5.6, 1/2500 second.
Many thanks to our panel of guest judges: bird photographer Mia McPherson, photo editor and photographer Ernie Mastroianni, and Outdoor Photographer Editor Wes Pitts.Originally Published
