Broad-tailed Hummingbirds

Broad-tailed Hummingbirds

Photographer: Bill Bryant

Location and date: Golden, Colorado, July 31, 2019.

Description: This photograph was taken from my deck in the Colorado foothills. It is very unusual to capture more than one hummingbird in the same frame with both being in focus. Lots of trial and error involved! The background is a pine forest located about a mile away across a canyon. This shot was taken early in the morning to maximize the nice warm light.

Gear and Settings: Canon 1DX MKII, Canon 300mm/2.8 lens, f/16, 1/2500th of a second, ISO 6400.
