We received more than 1,000 submissions to our 2019 Bird Portrait Contest, and now, after combing through the entries, we’re excited to announce the results.

Description: Taken at Gatorland in Orlando. This male Anhinga was frantically building a nest for the female he was wooing. He was collecting and rearranging twigs, hoping to make his “love nest” as appealing and desirable as possible.
