Now in its fourth year, the highly celebrated Bird Photographer of the Year (BPOTY) competition recently announced the shortlisted images for the 2019 competition. This year, the competition received thousands of images submitted by photographers from 63 countries around the world. The shortlisted images are sure not to disappoint, offering a breathtaking selection of the best bird photography the world has to offer. The judging panel is led by British TV presenter and conservationist Chris Packham, and it also included BirdWatching contributing photographer Brian Small and editor Matt Mendenhall.
