During the spring months in Colorado one of my favorite birds to photograph is the American Avocet. On this day late in the afternoon, the light was really nice. This pair were very accommodating and provided a variety of nice poses as they were feeding. Then they gave me an extra bonus and started performing their mating ritual. I have had the opportunity to photograph this before, however this is the first time I was able to capture them facing straight at me as they crossed their beaks doing their courtship dance.
