This young female snowy owl had a long flight south to reach Virginia's Eastern Shore. The locals let the birders know that this bird had arrived. I took my camera gear to the beach, not exactly sure where it was. I had to park my car at the end of the parking lot, then take the camera gear that I need to walk the rest of the way until I found where the owl was. It was about 2 miles down the beach on a low sand dune. The wind was blowing about 15-20 miles per hour, right in my face as the camera pointed towards the owl.
