Eying Each Other

Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Palm Beach County, Florida is a nature preserve featuring marshes, ponds, islands and dry land. The area is teaming with diverse wildlife. The islands support nesting birds and form a rookery. My wife and I visit there several times each year. This alligator crept closer at it was eying the little black-necked stilt strolling along the shoreline. I wondered how this would end as the drama unfolded.
