Image Description
I was birding at Onondaga Lake in Syracuse, N.Y. when I noticed this Killdeer on the side on the walking path. I was able to snap some pictures (at a respectful distance ) and she didn't seem to mind. It wasn't until later that evening when I downloaded them that I noticed the small speckled eggs that blended in perfectly with the rocks she had made as a nest. I've never seen this type of nest and was amazed those eggs were hidden so we'll.
