Skylar’s Great Adventure: The True Story of a Brave Fresh Pond Owlet, by John Harrison and Kim Nagy, Ziggy Owl Press, paperback, 2018, 74 pages

In spring 2018, at Fresh Pond in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a young Great Horned Owl fell out of its nest tree. Park rangers put up a caution sign, warning passersby and dog-walkers to avoid the bird, and eventually it made its way back to the safety of high branches and its parents. Photographers John Harrison and Kim Nagy documented the bird’s story and present it in this delightful — and hopeful — children’s book.
