Dubois Grouse Days

$25 – $50A unique opportunity to view iconic greater sage-grouse perform their courtship ritual in an expansive stretch of high desert sagebrush-steppe amid a backdrop of massive mountain ranges. Dubois Grouse Days 2015 is a one-day event in eastern Idaho featuring guided tours to grouse breeding grounds (leks). A delicious brunch (included with your reservation) is served following the lek tours and is accompanied by talks about sage-grouse conservation efforts and followed by fun raffle drawings. Online registration is available through the event website. Proceeds support local conservation projects and educational activities.
Lek site photography blinds are available for reservation Tuesday April 7th- Sunday April 12th and provide photographers with an incredible opportunity to capture close-range images of these birds without disturbing them. Attendees are encouraged to visit nearby southeast Idaho birding hotspots Camas National Wildlife Refuge and Mud Lake Wildlife Management Area during their stay in the region.
Festival participants are welcome to tent, car, or RV camp at the Dubois community center for free. There is also a motel, café, and full-service convenience store in Dubois, Idaho.
